Distribution of Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.), an invasive species, in an Irish nature reserve and its relevance for birds
Tom Cooney
This paper presents a distribution map of the non-native and invasive Sea Buckthorn Hippophae rhamnoides on North Bull Island and comments on its relationship with birds. This shrub was deliberately introduced to the island several decades ago and has since spread away from the original plantings. It now threatens to encroach into EU Annex I habitats.
